characteristics: hardy, upright-spreading, vigorous; leaves: mainly
elliptic, serrate, glabrous, apex acuminate to cuspidate, base obtuse, length : width
ratio 1.6, petioles are 3.5 to 5.0 cm long, fall color is mostly rusty orange with some
yellow.
- Flower characteristics: odorous, single, large, diameter 5.5 cm; pedicel: green;
petals: free, oblong, almost circular, white on both sides; full bloom: mid-May
(Frelighsburg, QC).
- Fruit
characteristics: small, 2.3 cm diameter, flat, symmetric, slightly ribbed;
basin: very shallow, narrow, calyx is persistent; cavity: shallow, narrow; stem: thin,
long; skin: smooth, waxy, medium thick, washed orange to red with some striping over a
yellow ground, inconspicuous lenticels; fruits remain on the tree in the fall.
- Other characteristics: diseases and pests resistant.

availability: Good for Quebec and
Eastern and Central Canada. A limited number of budwood is available from the breeder
after signing a non-propagation agreement (only to universities and research stations).
