Origin: seedling of P. domestica discovered by T. Latchford of Ottawa. European type plum. Fruit: large, oval; cavity:
narrow, shallow; suture: obscure; stem: about 2 cm long; skin: deep purple with a blue bloom; flesh: greenish-yellow, juicy;
stone: medium size, oval, cling; flavor: sweet; quality: average for fresh eating, good for making preserves; ripening season:
September 26 in La Pocatiere, mid to late September in Ottawa. Tree: hardy in La Pocatiere (rating of 9.7 on 10) where it was
evaluated for 24 years, very hardy in Ottawa, very large, very vigorous, tendency to bear biennially, starts bearing at 7 years,
long lived (one tree lived over 50 years in Ottawa); yield: very productive, average of 77.7 kg/tree in La Pocatiere from
mature trees during the ‘on’ years with a maximum yield of up to 109.5 kg/tree, average yield in Ottawa was much lower at
22.9 kg/tree; flowering: May 29 to June 10 in La Pocatiere, May 14 to 23 in Ottawa. Other: prune type plum.

Origine : semis de P. domestica découvert par T. Latchford, d’Ottawa. Prunier de type européen. Fruit : gros, ovale; cavité
pédonculaire : étroite, peu profonde; suture : obscure; pédoncule : long d’environ 2 cm; peau : violet foncé avec pruine bleue;
chair : jaune verdâtre, juteuse; noyau : de grosseur moyenne, ovale, adhérent; saveur : sucrée; qualité : moyenne pour la
consommation en frais, bonne pour les confitures; époque de maturité : le 26 septembre à La Pocatière, entre le milieu et la
fin septembre à Ottawa. Prunier : rustique à La Pocatière (cote de 9,7 sur 10) où il a été évalué pendant 24 ans, très rustique à
Ottawa, très grand, très vigoureux, ayant tendance à produire une année sur deux, produisant à partir de 7 ans, vivant
longtemps (un sujet a vécu plus de 50 ans à Ottawa); rendement : très élevé, 77,7 kg/arbre en moyenne et jusqu’à un
maximum de 109,5 kg/arbre à La Pocatière pour les années de production, bien inférieur à Ottawa (22,9 kg/arbre en
moyenne); floraison : du 29 mai au 10 juin à La Pocatière, du 14 au 23 mai à Ottawa. Autres caractéristiques : prunier à
pruneaux.
