Origin: introduced in 1885 by Thomas Rivers, Sawbridgeworth (England). Seedling of Autumn Compote. P. domestica.
European type plum. Fruit: attractive, large, 50 x 45 mm, roundish-oval, unequal halves; cavity: deep, broad, rounded; apex:
roundish or flattened; suture: hardly visible; stem: short, thick; skin: thin, tender, separates easily from the flesh, dark
purplish-red with a heavy bloom and numerous, conspicuous dots; flesh: yellow, juicy, tender, a bit fibrous; stone: cling;
flavor: sweet near the skin, pleasantly tart near the stone, aromatic; quality: average for eating fresh, good for shipping and
desserts; ripening season: late, September 30 in La Pocatiere. Tree: hardy (rating 9 of 10) in La Pocatiere where it was
evaluated for 20 years, medium size and vigor, upright-spreading, open-topped, tendency to bear biennially, starts bearing at
5-6 years; yield: low in La Pocatiere, average of 12.7 kg/tree; flowering: May 30 to June 11 in La Pocatiere.

profonde, large, arrondie; sommet : arrondi ou aplati; suture : à peine visible; pédoncule : court, épais; peau : mince, tendre,
se séparant facilement de la chair, rouge violacé foncé, très pruinée, avec de nombreux points bien marqués; chair : jaune,
juteuse, tendre, un peu fibreuse; noyau : adhérent; saveur : sucrée près de la peau, agréablement aigrelette près du noyau,
aromatique; qualité : moyenne pour la consommation en frais, bonne pour l’expédition et les desserts; époque de maturité :
tardive, le 30 septembre à La Pocatière. Prunier : rustique (cote de 9 sur 10) à La Pocatière, où le
cultivar a été évalué pendant 20 ans, de grandeur et vigueur moyennes, dressé-étalé, à houppier
clairsemé, ayant tendance à produire une année sur deux, produisant à partir de 5 ou 6 ans;
rendement : faible à La Pocatière, 12,7 kg/arbre en moyenne; floraison : du 30 mai au 11 juin
à La Pocatière.
