Origin: introduced in 1967 by G.H. Dickson, G.W. Eaton, C.D. Whitty, and G. Tehrani of the Horticultural Research Institute
of Ontario, Vineland. Imperial Epineuse x President. P. domestica. European type plum. Fruit: medium-large, ovate; suture:
moderate; skin: dark purple, speckled; flesh: greenish-gold, soluble solids are 16.4 % at maturity; stone: semi-free; flavor:
good; quality: good for eating fresh; ripening season: very late, October 1 in La Pocatiere, September 23 in the Montreal area.
Tree: not hardy in La Pocatiere, not hardy in Frelighsburg with a 0 on 3 rating for survival after the very harsh winter of
1989-90, vigorous, starts bearing at 4-5 years; yield: trees produced from 10.5 to 16.8 kg/tree 7 years after planting in La
Pocatiere, average yield from 9 year old trees was 22 kg/tree in La Pocatiere; flowering: starts May 21-24 and lasts 11-17
days, full bloom is May 27-29 in La Pocatiere. Other: tested as V-33021, prune type plum, not self-fruitful, sets well with
pollen from California Blue, Bluefre, Bluebell, Stanley, Italian, Verity and Vision, seems fairly resistant to shot-hole leaf spot.

horticoles de l’Ontario, à Vineland. Imperial Epineuse x Président. P. domestica. Prunier de type européen. Fruit : moyen à
gros, ové; suture : modérément marquée; peau : violet foncé, mouchetée; chair : doré verdâtre, renfermant 16,4 % de solides
solubles à maturité; noyau : semi-libre; saveur : bonne; qualité : bonne pour la consommation en frais; époque de maturité :
très tardive, le 1er octobre à La Pocatière, le 23 septembre dans la région de Montréal. Prunier : non rustique à La Pocatière,
non rustique à Frelighsburg (taux de survie de 0 sur 3 après le très dur hiver de 1989-1990), vigoureux, produisant à partir de
4 ou 5 ans; rendement : 10,5 à 16,8 kg/arbre 7 ans après la plantation à La Pocatière, 22 kg/arbre en moyenne pour les arbres
de 9 ans à La Pocatière; floraison : débute entre le 21 et le 24 mai et dure 11 à 17 jours avec floraison maximale entre le 27 et
le 29 mai à La Pocatière. Autres caractéristiques : mis à l’essai sous la dénomination V-33021, prunier à pruneaux,
autoincompatible, fructifie bien après pollinisation par California Blue, Bluefre, Bluebell, Stanley, Italian, Verity et Vision,
semble assez résistant à la criblure.
