Origin: originated by Luther Burbank and introduced by the Fancher Creek Nursery Company in 1907. Contains a mixture of
P. salicina, P. simonii, and P. americana. Japanese type plum. Fruit: attractive, large, oblong-conic, pointed; cavity: medium
depth; suture: distinct; skin: reddish purple, thin bloom; flesh: reddish near the skin, shading to amber near the stone, firm,
juicy; stone: cling; flavor: good; quality: good for fresh eating and shipping; ripening season: early, mid-August in the
Montreal area. Tree: not hardy in Frelighsburg with a 0 on 3 rating for survival after the very harsh winter of 1989-90, not
hardy at all in La Pocatiere, hardy in Geneva, New York according to a local bulletin (No. 536) issued Feb. 1929, large tree,
vigorous; yield: usually a good producer; flowering: early. Other: the fruit keeps well, fruit set can be a problem at times.

ambrée près du noyau, ferme, juteuse; noyau : adhérent; saveur : bonne; qualité : bonne pour la consommation en frais et
l’expédition; époque de maturité : hâtive, mi-août dans la région de Montréal. Prunier : non rustique à Frelighsburg (taux de
survie de 0 sur 3 après le très dur hiver de 1989-1990), pas du tout rustique à La Pocatière, rustique à Geneva (New York)
selon un bulletin local (no 536) diffusé en février 1929, grand, vigoureux; rendement : généralement bon;
floraison : hâtive. Autres caractéristiques : le fruit se conserve bien, la nouaison est parfois un
problème.
